The day started as it should, with a proper flat white at the local: Metronome. Then it was off in the tube to Embankment station to wander around Victoria Embankment Gardens, then across the River Thames for a walk down memory lane, AKA, the South Bank. From the National Theatre down to Borough Market and beyond. After all that a quick hello to South Africa House and back home.
“I had wanted much more for the first night with you / But the railway hotel was the best I could do / I knew the Savoy would have suited you well / But the best I could do was the railway hotel.”
