After the wedding, I enjoyed a restful Labor Day Monday exploring Greenville a bit more. Went for a lovely long amble on the Swamp Rabbit Trail meandering next to the scenic Reedy River. Lovely to see so many walker, runners, cyclists and dogs out on the trail.
Then it was off to a local brewery type music venue called Fireforge to catch some local sounds. But no such luck as the resident, annual Labor Day band Sidecar was decidedly a sideshow cover group. The excellent base player was a surprise trumpet virtuoso. I enjoyed their first few tunes, but judging from the copious amount of the local’s brew consumed on stage, it got (a lot) worse as the afternoon wore on. And, believe it or not dear reader, I was there to bring the average age in attendance
down
! (They did recognise my
Desolation Row
T-shirt though, which was some sort of consolation.) Then I went for a lovely dinner around the corner from the excellent Soby’s, where we had dinner previously with my family and that was Labor Day wrapped.
